Chapter 738  : No Talent

The three elders all beckoned Yao Tang to come over.

When President Tan and Tan Jianstepped through the doorway, they were surprised to see this mysterious instrument in front of them.

“Dad, what instrument is that?” Tan Jian whispered. “How come I’ve never seen of it before?”

What he didn’t know was that President Tan also hadn’t seen it too.

If his guess was correct, then this must be the famous examination room of the Inner Pavillion. Only the most talented and important people were allowed to enter.

Who would’ve thought that he’d be able to see the instrument with his own eyes?

“You will know when the examination begins.” President Tan pretended to be casual as he waved his hand.

As the person who had brought Yao Tang here, he naturally shouldn’t show her his fear in front of the Elders. He needed to pull himself together.

Elder Wang frowned when he noticed the two men coming in. “This is the secret room only allowed to be seen by the members of the Inner Pavillion,” he snapped. “Please leave.”

His tone was stiff, and it was obvious that there was no getting around him.

President Tan bowed his head, knowing that he couldn’t complain. Without another word, he pulled Tan Jianout of the room.

Now, all he cared about was Yao Tang’s examination. Nothing else.

When they walked out, they headed into the waiting room.

President Tan picked up one of the tea cups that had been prepared for him and brought it to his lips. A trace of regret flashed across his eyes.

If he had known that Yao Tang was there all by herself, he wouldn’t have acted that confident. Heck, even he didn’t know what that instrument was.

If he had asked them before the examination, then Yao Tang may have had an idea as to what it could be.

Tan Jian glanced over at her worried expression and suddenly understood his predicament. “Dad, do you not know what it is? You were lying to me?”

That shouldn’t be the case, right? His father had always been a talented man. There was no instrument he didn’t know.

President Tan shot him a glare. “Don’t speak nonsense,” he snapped. “Just sit quietly and don’t wander around.”

All he could do was hope that Yao Tang knew what she was doing.

He couldn’t care less whether or not Yao Tang would pass this test. All he cared about was that the results wouldn’t hurt or discourage her. After all, she was still extremely talented in his eyes.

On the other side of the building, the elders closed the door behind them.

Yao tang stood by the side lazily.

The elders knew that geniuses like her were prideful. However, they still needed to prove themselves for this test.

“Analyze the instrument.”

Elder Wang said coldly, before waiting at the side.

However, after waiting for a total of three minutes, disappointment was evident in all of their eyes.

If she was really a true genius, then she would’ve already found a way to play the instrument within three minutes. Now that the same time had passed, the instrument still didn’t make a sound.

This proved that she was talentless.

Even then, Yao Tang’s face remained indifferent as if she didn’t realize what kind of thoughts they had in their mind.

Or perhaps, she didn’t care at all.

Elder Xu glanced at the scene before him, sighing in his heart. “Try to make sound come out of the instrument. If it makes a sound, it will prove your talent,” he reminded.

How could this be?

He knew that Yao Tang was a genius, but why didn’t the instrument recognize her?

He blinked in disbelief.

What had gone wrong?

Yao Tang appeared deep in thought. She then stepped forward and gently raised her hand to touch the instrument.

The moment she touched it, the instrument made a short crisp sound.

This sound was very clear, but also very short.

Nobody had time to react.

Yao Tang took a step back. Her face was indifferent, and she didn’t say a word.

The three elders couldn’t help but be disappointed.

If she was a real genius, the musical instrument would’ve been able to automatically play a tune. However, now, all they could hear was a short tone.

Her talent wasn’t much.

She could become a slightly famous musician, but she wasn’t going to be a world-famous one. That’s for sure.

But the Cabinet only recognized true geniuses!
